Somehow I had no clue who was going to perform during half-time last night at the Super Bowl. After ignoring the first half of the game I finally turned on the tv and there was Madonna! And Nicki Minaj! And MIA??? I got a bit distracted by MIA trying to be like Britney.

Anyway, in honor of her performance I've decided that today is the perfect day for one of my favorite Madonna songs. Enjoy!

Music Monday: The Workout Edition

Well hello there and welcome to 2012. We're two days into the new year...so far, so good?

It only seems right that the first post of this new year would revolve around (almost) everyone's resolution to GET FIT. So, let's make this extra special and not only give you a song that will motivate you to get up in the gym but also some extra sexy outfits to make sweating to the oldies (and by oldies we mean jamz from the late 90s) just a bit more fun.

While spending a leisurely Sunday perusing some of my favorite blogs I came across a link to MICHI. I quickly put down my banana bread (Thanks Jos!) I was stuffing into my face and vowed to look like this by the beginning of the summer!

MICHI originated from the desire to fill the gap between provocative, glamorous lingerie and comfortable, utilitarian athletic wear. The designer, Michelle Watson, has worked for Kate Spade, Donna Karan and Ralph Lauren. Pretty impressive resume!

How's that for motivation to get your butt up in the gym? Not enough? Need some music? Ok, well here's the tune I've been slightly obsessed with for the past few months. How convenient that the title is Work Out. Any song that does a bit of a cover of Paula Abdul is a winner in my book.

Now, I think it's time for some beer, don't you? An entire keg of it.

I'm one tired spice after Art vs. Craft on Saturday (which was AWESOME by the way.) I could barely bring myself to check Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr (do I have an SM problem?? Yikes) let alone find a song to get me through a Monday. But today. Today I'm back with a bit mo' energy. And who better than Beirut to get me through this week. They'll be in Milwaukee tomorrow night but sadly I won't be heading that way.  It's so tempting but instead I'll just spend hours on Youtube watching their videos. What else would I be doing on a Wednesday evening?

Let's face it. The xx is one of the best bands to come out in the past few years. What? You don't agree with me? Something is wrong with you. Ok, that's a bit harsh. It's too early on a Monday morning for that much snarkiness. I'll wait until Tuesday.

It was a wild night in Wisconsin with our beloved Packers winning a very important game. I came home and needed to settle down my racing heart! Life was so much easier when I didn't really care about football. Oy.

This is my absolute favorite song. I love Cat Power's voice. And her covering Hank Williams is amazing. This will calm me down and leave me rested for my Monday.
