Fashion Friday: C'est La Chine

For any of you that think Etsy is just a bunch of glue-gun wielding stay-at-home moms, you might be surprised at what you can find. Check out C'est La Chine. The styling for each shot is fantastic.

Living In...500 Square Feet

My Google Reader  is currently out of control. Real world problems, I know. My goal is to tackle the insane amount of unread blog posts...but only after I stop drooling over this super cute place that was featured on Apartment Therapy. Can you believe it's only 500 square feet???

Cookie Exchange

The Cookie Exchange. I can never resist. I spend way too much time reading recipes that it would be a shame not to indulge in a little butter and sugar whipping and baking this time of year. This year I made these babies.

And am heading home with madelines, something with chestnuts(!), and Mailaenderli. I guess it's worth baking til the wee hours of morning. Although at 2 am last night I was cursing myself while wielding a spatula and working my magic with a cookie cutter.  Procrastination at its finest.

Happy Holly-days.

Eames

I had every intention of going to bed early last night but then got sucked into the Eames documentary on PBS. So, in honor of their work, here's some pretty pics of their classic chairs.

Fashion Friday: Wrap It Up

Tis the season. The season of scarves taking over my living room. And bedroom. And every nook and cranny around my apartment. What? I have too many? No. Not at all. Scarves are the best accessory. Don't let anyone tell you different.

Take a gander at a few of the gems I found today. Some might be a bit too ridiculous for the average person. But who wants to be average? Fashion is meant to be fun, yo.

Who wouldn't want an elephant wrapped around their neck?

I really love this Burberry Prorsum cashmere and silk printed scarf. I could wear it every day.

This is like summer around your neck. Though it also reminds me of a retired Floridian a bit...but let's forget about that.

Another Matthew Williamson gem. I love the details of this.

Sometimes you just need a pretty, solid colored scarf to get you through the day. This will do the trick. And since I lost a scarf similar to this while I was in da club during my last visit to NYC (cue the jamz), this might be on my Christmas list.

And finally, if elephants around your neck aren't your thing maybe impala prancing around your neck is. I don't judge.

Don't Be Bitter

Bitters are my very favorite cure-all. Feeling tired? Headache? Sore neck? Dr. Josephina prescribes bitters to cure what ails you.

Last night I sampled Scrappy's celery bitters. Delicious! And great package design to boot.
For more information about bitters, I suggest perusing the internets, chatting up your favorite bartender, or taking a DIY course, like this one.  Better yet, host a bitters sampling party! I also suggest carrying a little bottle in your purse. Mixed with soda water or spritzed directly on your tongue, it's the perfect apĂ©ritif to help settle the stomach before indulging in rich party foods and booze.

In other food trend-related news, I'm hoping the ethnic doughnut trend really takes off in 2012. Thoughts?

Print Party!

I'm a big fan of pretty and practical objects. These from Print Party definitely fit the bill. Not only do I love that they are made out of cork, one of my favorite materials, but I also love the modern graphics that have been screen printed onto each piece. I can see these all over my house!
