Twinkle, twinkle

I love this time of year. Well, minus the cold and slush it really is great.

Although the cold can get irritating there is something about walking outside and having the cold air snap you awake. Nothing beats a fresh layer of snow; it covers up the dirt and grime and everything that is wrong about winter and instead makes everything look beautiful and still.

But what I love most about this time of year is the holiday lights. Although many people get excited for the presents or the holiday cookies (I ate too many yesterday!), for me it is the lights. Plain and simple. The twinkle of lights against falling snow can't be beat.
